Dr. Delese Mimi Darko has today been elected as the first Director-General of the African Medicines Agency at the ongoing 2nd Ordinary Session of the Conference of State Parties in Kigali.

In a competitive process that saw 149 applications when nominations opened in January 2025, Dr. Darko emerged as the best candidate.
