The National Chief Imam of Ghana, Shaikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has called for an end to atrocities in Gaza and other conflicts zones across the world.

According to the Chief Imam, Ghanaians and the International Communities should embrace positive moral renewal, sacrifice, and interfaith harmony as the world becomes global.Delivering his speech ahead of the 2025 Eid celebration on Friday, 6th June, 2925, the Chief Imam described the annual Islamic Festival as more than rituals of sacrifices, but a divine call to personal purity, societal transformation, and global peace.

“Eid-Al-Adha is an Islamic Festival full of sacrifices and an opportunity to reaffirm our faith in Allah” he said.
“Allah is not interested in the flesh and blood of the animals sacrificed rather, our commitment to piety” he added, referencing Qu’an chapter 22, verse number 37.
His Eminence advised Muslims to reflect on the moral norms of the occasion to promote positive change and peace in the interest of our society. He said the virtues of the Eid celebration would be fruitless if they do not lead to attitudinal cleaning and moral growth.

The Chief Imam stressed more on interfaith unity, says the story of Prophet Abraham’s obedience at the heart of Eid-Al-Adha should unite all Abrahamic faiths in mutual respect.
“This is the point of convergence of all the Abrahamic religions. Hence, calling on Christians, Muslims, Jews and others including Traditional believers to see the festival as an opportunity to renew their commitment to the peaceful coexistence”, he appealed.
Shaikh Dr. Sharubutu expressed worried about the perennial Gaza atrocities, condemned what he described as “genocidal impunity and moral bankruptcy”, and urged world leaders to uphold justice, peace, and human dignity.
The message was delivered by Dr Abubakari Mohammed Marzuq Azindoo, personal aid to the National Chief Imam, Shaikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.
