Residents of Kensakrom Lament Over lack of Social Amenities

Kensakrom is a small farming community in the Mponua District of the Ashanti Region in Ghana.

The population of the community is about five thousand (5,000) where 70% of population are peasant farmers, 8% traders, 10% civil servants and the remaining 12% are school going children respectfully.

One of their major challenges is access to water, health facilities, transport system and more.

Speaking to Malam Mustapha Akugri, a farmer, he said about 90% of the people in Kensakrom depend on well and streams as a source of water for drinking and domestic use.

According to Mustapha, only few people use pump water as a source of good drinking water in the community.

The residents of Kensakrom are calling on the social corporate organizations to come to their aid to get them potable drinking water.

Malam Mustapha added that, there are no nearby health facilities serving the community. They used to travel to Bibiani or Nyinahin to access healthcare.
