President Mahama Thanked Asanteman for Overwhelming Endorsement

H. E. President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his profound gratitude to the people of the Ashanti Region (Asanteman) for the overwhelming endorsement given to him and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections. The NDC got about 33% of the total votes in the region, a feat that President Mahama believes demonstrates the people’s preference for truth over propaganda and development over tribalism.

President Mahama commended Ghanaians for putting aside partisanship when national interests are at stake. He emphasized the importance of unity and urged traditional leaders, referred to as “Nananom,” to continue playing their role as partners in peace and progress. He lauded their enduring leadership in promoting national renewal through the government’s transformational agenda.

The President revealed several key projects in the Ashanti Region that his administration plans to complete and commission. These include
He stated that Suame Interchange, a critical infrastructure project aimed at improving road conditions and reducing congestion in Kumasi
Kejetia Market Phase 2 as a project that stalled because of Ghana’s debt exchange program but is expected to resume soon, Krofrom Market, One of the major markets in the region that requires development and modernization
He said Mamponteng Market, Another key market that will benefit from the government’s development initiatives while Afari Military Hospital, a healthcare facility that will enhance medical services in the region.
He disclosed that Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Maternity Block is a crucial healthcare project that will provide specialized services to residents
and Sewua Hospital is a hospital that will help decongest Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and provide essential healthcare services
He reiterated that Afari Military Hospital is a healthcare facility that will cater to the medical needs of military personnel and civilians

President Mahama’s commitment to completing these projects underscores his administration’s focus on development and improving living conditions for residents in the Ashanti Region.
