SPEEDING VEHICLE KILLED A GOOD SAMARITAN IMMIGRATION OFFICER WHO STOPPED TO HELP STRANDED DRIVER ON THE ROAD

A Ghana Immigration Service officer, identified as AICO II Japhet Boateng Kyei, has died after being hit by a speeding vehicle near the Accra Arts Centre.

Reports suggest the incident happened on Saturday night, July 19, 2025.

The information gathered suggests that the Immigration officer parked his vehicle and crossed the road to assist a stranded driver whose car had broken down.

After magnificently offering help, he was hit by a Hyundai Veloster with registration number DV 9050Y-25 while attempting to cross back to his vehicle.

AICO II Japhet Boateng Kyei was later pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified by a police officer on duty through the official Ghana Immigration Service pullover he was wearing at the time.

The body of AICO II Japhet Boateng Kyei has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue, and investigations are ongoing.
