Akoma FM Sharp Pen Educational program For Junior High School Students Launched

Akoma FM has launched its educational program, “The Sharp Pen,” aimed at helping junior high school students deepen their knowledge of English Language. This initiative promises to be a significant milestone in the radio station’s commitment to providing high-quality content.

According to the director of Akoma Fm, Ransford Nana Asare, this program will Enhance students’ understanding of English Language and foster critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills and 16 schools from various districts in the Ashanti Region, including Kumasi Metro, Ejisu, Bosomtwe District, Atwima Kwawonman Municipality, Asokore Mampong Municipality, the Kwabre East District and Oforikrom Municipality are participating in the competition and also Participants will receive certificates, and winners will be awarded trophies.

Station Manager of Akoma FM, Ransford Nana Osei Asare, in his remarks said modern technology is being employed to expand the reach of the competition.
“The use of audio visual in this contest will make it more appealing and revealing. We are creating space in the learning of growth in shaping the future of our children,” he said.

Head of Inspectorate at the Kumasi Metropolitan Education Office, Nicholas Bassah commended Akoma FM for the initiative, “I see this competition not a mere contest but wholistic development and a stride to mold the Ghanaian child. I am highly impressed about the way the programme is designed. It looks into the major aspects of the English language,” he remarked.

He also stressed the need to making the competition more fun- “let’s make this program fun enough to showcase the knowledge that these children have acquired”

Mr. Kankam Williams, CEO of High Bridge Montessori School in Aputuogya, expressed his excitement about his school’s selection to participate in the Sharp Pen competition. He believes the program will significantly improve his students’ English speaking skills.

“I’m confident that our students will excel and make us proud,” Mr. Williams said. “The Sharp Pen competition is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their knowledge and skills in English, and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”

With optimism, Mr. Williams anticipates a successful outcome for his students, crediting the program for its potential to enhance their linguistic abilities.
