
Mr. Abdul Maliki Azimbe, Kumasi Kusasis’ Chief who was in his late 50s was shot dead in a suspected targeted attack.
Maliki, popularly called Chief Maliki was the special aid to the Shanti Regional Kusasi Chief and Chief of the Kadi Divisional Area in Binduri at Bawku in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
The police believe Abdul-Malik Azimbe’s dead incident was a targeted attack hence he was singled out among others, shot and killed in the spot.

The shocking incident occurred on Tuesday, July 22, near the Asawase F-Line Community Centre in Kumasi.
Eyewitnesses say two unidentified men arrived at the chief’s residence on a motorbike around 8:30 p.m. One of the attackers, reportedly armed with an AK-47 rifle, opened fire on Malik before they fled the scene.

Chief Azenbe, who was enskinned as Kadi Naaba just three months ago, was rushed to the Manhyia District Hospital and later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on the arrival.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, visited the bereaved family shortly after the incident. He assured the family that a full-scale investigation is underway and pledged to bring the culprit to justice.
The Ghana Police Service have since increased security in the area and are appealing to the public to support the police with information that could help track down the gunmen.
The Chief’s tragic death has sent shockwaves through the Kusasi community, with calls for swift police action to prevent further violence.
Although, we are yet to confirm from the police report about the alleged complaint logged to the police about several treats he received before his untimely death.
Chief Malik’s death is not the first tragic incident that happened, there have been similar targeted Killings of the Kusasis youth in various places such as Goaso, Kwadaso Onion Market in Kumasi, etc.
