GSS Assures all Ghanaian student applicats for 2025/2026 with equal opportunities, fairness, and transparency.

A Message from the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat

Through the Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the 2025–2026 academic year, the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat underlines its commitment to justice, openness, and equal opportunity for all eligible Ghanaian students, in keeping with its fundamental goal of facilitating access to high-quality tertiary education.

All qualified students, regardless of background, institution, or location, can apply through the Secretariat’s transparent, merit-based application process. Each applicant must go through a three-phase, well-defined process:

  1. Online Registration & Submission of Documents
  2. Standardized Online Aptitude Test
  3. District-Level Selection Interviews

These stages ensure that no one is left behind and that every candidate is assessed based on verified academic performance and equal participation in testing and interviews.

The process is digitally managed, allowing applicants to independently complete applications and track progress through the official portal at www.apply.scholarships.gov.gh. This eliminates favoritism, bias, and third-party interference.

Additionally, the Secretariat emphasizes that all services are completely free of charge, reinforcing its dedication to equity and integrity.

No individual, group, or agent has been authorized to collect payment or influence the process on behalf of the Secretariat. Any suspicious activity should be reported to 055 298 5646 for investigation by the CID of the Ghana Police Service.

By adhering to these guidelines, the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat keeps removing financial obstacles and guaranteeing that all worthy Ghanaian students, from both public and private schools, have an equal opportunity to gain access to state-funded educational assistance. We are unwavering in our commitment to using inclusive, equitable, and transparent scholarship programs to develop the next generation of Ghanaian leaders.

Ghana Scholarship Secretariat.
