
The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly arrested Kofi Akpaloo, the founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), at his residence in Kumasi.
According to sources, the early morning operation was carried out by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU), based at the agency’s headquarters in Accra, in collaboration with its Ashanti Regional Office.
The arrest was executed without any resistance, insiders hints.
While the exact cause for Kofi Akpaloo’s arrest has not been disclosed yet, he is currently being transported to Accra to assist EOCO investigators with ongoing investigations.
EOCO has yet to issue an official statement regarding the current development.
