Boadihemaa Calls For Boadi, Amena And, Apemso Electoral Area To Be Decentralised

In her quest to advocate for development in the Boadi community and its catchment areas, the Queen Mother for the Boadi Traditional Council, Oheneyire Huahi Akua Asamoah has called for the decentralization of the Boadi, Amena and Apemso Electoral Area to foster development in these areas.

According to Oheneyire Huahi Asamoah, these three communities are managed by one Assemblyman making it difficult for him to initiative development.

This call, she said, is not just a political maneuver; it is a necessary step towards fostering sustainable development and empowering local the communities.

Speaking during the 41st Farmers’ Day Anniversary on Friday 7th December 2025 at the forecourt of the Boadi Palace in the Oforikrom Municipality, Oheneyire Huahi Akua Asamoah demonstrated the unwavering contributions and hard work of farmers in the Municipality and urged government to prioritise measures to support farmers especially those engaging in vegetables farming for them to cultivate in large quantities so as to reduce the importation of vegetables into the country.

EDUCATION

Oheneyire Huahi Akua Asamoah went further to underscore the need to improve on environmental friendly for some basic schools in the Municipality of which she appeals to the Minicipal Chief Executive, Hon. Sadat Anwel Ahmed to provide immediate support for the schools.

Boadi basic School, a cornerstone of education in the area, has been facing challenges related to security and safety. With increasing concerns about unauthorized access and potential threats, Oheneyire Huahi Akua Asamoah emphasized the urgent need for a fence wall. “Our children deserve a safe space to learn and grow,” she stated. The proposed fence wall would not only protect the students but also serve as a symbol of the community’s commitment to education and child welfare.

The affable Queen Mother also reminded government through the MCE to intensify 24-hour market initiative stressing that the Boadi community needs accessible market to provide a space for local vendors to showcase their goods to stimulate for economic growth within the community. This, she noted, would encourage entrepreneurship, create job opportunities, and ultimately lead to a more self-sufficient and prosperous Boadi.

ROAD NETWORK

In recent years, the importance of infrastructure development has become increasingly evident in communities across Ghana. One area that has been particularly vocal about its needs is Boadi, where local leaders and residents are calling for urgent improvements to the road network.

Oheneyire Huahi Akua Asamoah a prominent community leader, admonished the poor nature of road network in the Boadi community as eminent to the people and called on the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for immediate action.

Boadi, she reiterated, like many other communities in Ghana, has been grappling with inadequate road infrastructure. Many of the roads are poorly maintained, riddled with potholes, and often become impassable during the rainy season. This situation not only hampers daily commuting but also affects the transportation of goods and services, leading to economic stagnation.

However appealing to the MCE to reflect on the community’s frustration and desire for change…by advocating for better roads for the community.
