The Eastern North Regional Police Command has conducted a successful intelligence-led operation within Kwahu Nkwatia, leading to the arrest of three (3) suspects and the retrieval of suspected narcotic drugs and ammunition.
The operation was carried out targeting known drug peddling spots and criminal hideouts within Nkwatia Township and surrounding communities.
At Kwayeano, a suburb of Nkwatia, the command conducted a meticulous cordon and search of the area, which led to the recovery of forty-six (46) wraps of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs.
The police team later moved to an estate near the Nkwatia SDA School, where two suspects, Kwame Asomani (27) and Kwasi Dwamena (25), were arrested with quantities of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs.
At Aduamoah, the operation resulted in the arrest of Kwadwo Ofori (45) for possessing ten (10) rounds of BB ammunition without lawful authority.
The three suspects are currently in police custody, assisting investigation. The retrieved exhibits have been secured in police custody pending forensic analysis.
