Over-speeding bus with passengers on board crashes into a cement truck, claiming ten lives, leaving several injured at Offinso Samproso in the Ashanti Regional.
Eyewitnesses say the bus collided with the truck while it was crossing the road from a cement factory.
The injured were rushed to Offinso St. Patrick Hospital and other nearby facilities, while the deceased are at the hospital mortuary.
According to the eyewitness report, the incident occurred when a bus traveling from Navrongo collided with a cement-laden truck, reportedly due to overs-peeding. The said bus crushed the middle of the cement truck as it crossed the road from a nearby cement factory.
The injured victims who were immediately rushed to Offinso St. Patrick Hospital and other nearby health facilities for treatment are in stable condition, while the deceased have been moved to the mortuary at St. Patrick Hospital.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision as emergency services continue to respond to the scene.
