Police begins Investigation into the Death Of 16-Year-Old Girl at Tinkong During Val’s Day

 

 

Adawso Police in Akuapem North District of Eastern region have launched an investigation into the death of a 16-year-old girl whose body was discovered in a stream at Tinkong Township.

The deceased, identified as Deborah Dede Ama, reportedly left home on the evening of February 14 to attend a Valentine’s Day party in Tinkong while her mother was away.

According to the family, she failed to return home, prompting concern among relatives.

Her body was found on Tuesday in a stream near their home.

Residents say the body had begun decomposing at the time of discovery.

An eyewitness, Kofi Sammy, claimed there were indications of possible foul play.

However, circumstances surrounding her death have raised suspicions that she may have been assaulted before being killed.

Police in Adawso retrieved the body and conveyed it to the morgue for preservation and autopsy. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of death and identify those responsible.

Assembly Member for Tinkong, Samuel Abochie, described the killing as shocking and called on the police to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure justice is served.
