Asankragu robbery, five suspects arrested by police
The Western Central region has arrested five suspects in connection with a robbery attack on a Chinese heavy-duty machinery company At Asankragua.
The suspects armed with pump action guns, and machetes held workers of the company hostage and robbed them of cash in the sum of GHS200,000 cedis.
During the robbery, the suspects handcuffed three Chinese nationals, locked them in a room and fled the scene in a black Toyota voxy vehicle with registration number GS 576 25
Upon receiving the information, a patrol team from Asankragwa police moved swiftly to the scene. However, the suspects had already fled. The suspected vehicle was later spotted on the Asankragwa Sefwi Bekwai Road and intercepted by the police on duty at the sumpre checkpoint.
Addressing the media at the Asankragua Police Division, DCOP Owusu Boampong, the Western Central Regional Police Commander commended the Police for their immense support in arresting the culprits.
He assured the public of the Police continued commitment in maintaining law and order and further encouraged members of the public to support the police with credible information to help combat crime in the community.
