The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has urged members of the Ga royal and traditional families to unite and use chieftaincy and tradition as tools for development.
He noted that the progress of Ghana is closely linked to the growth of its capital, Accra, and called on the Ga people to play a leading role in championing development initiatives within the Greater Accra Region.
Speaker Bagbin stressed that just as other nations have leveraged their royal institutions to drive national development, the Ga royal families must also come together to support efforts aimed at transforming the capital.
He made the remarks in his office in Parliament when a delegation from the family of the late Madam Agnes Yacoba Conduah, mother of the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, called on him to officially inform him of her passing.
Leader of the delegation, Jacob Herbert Nii Okanta Vanderpuije, officially invited the Speaker to the funeral, scheduled for Thursday, October 16, 2025.
The former Member of Parliament for Odododiodio, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuije, who was part of the delegation expressed appreciation to the Speaker for his warm reception and his passion for the development of Greater Accra.
