Why are our Akan brothers always the first to give the NPP bad press? Why are always those who this party lifted, fed, and decorated the quickest to reach for the knife?
Kufuor lost the primaries to Albert Adu Boahen in 1992. He did not form a splinter group. He did not sulk in public. He waited for his turn. When Akufo-Addo lost to Kufuor in 1998, he did not hurt the party. He swallowed the result and stayed in line. In fact, Akufo-Addo was the most credible voice in the Election 2000 election campaign.
That discipline produced Victory 2000. That victory opened doors. Big doors. For Alan Kyerematen. For Kennedy Agyapong. For many of you reading this right now. I have personally been in the trenches too, since 1992. But I got nothing. Not even a customized diary. I didn’t complain and I will never undermine the NPP for anything.
The Kufuor years changed financial statuses. The Akufo-Addo years changed social standings. People made money. Big money. People got contracts,
appointments, platforms, and relevance. Not because they were born deserving it. Because millions of NPP footsoldiers sweated for it and two men had the discipline to lose gracefully before they could win at all.
Now look at “The Base.” That group is directly linked to Kennedy Agyapong. It is basically a sabotage project. It is a sophisticated proxy political vehicle.
Dr. Oti Bonsu was all over the airwaves in the run-up to the 2024 polls spreading disaffection against Samira Bawumia and by extension Dr. Bawumia himself. There was a fabricated claim that Samira caused his property to be demolished in East Legon. It was all a lie. It has always been personal hatred against the former Vice President and his wife.
Here is what beats the logic and rather swims in absurdities.
If Kennedy Agyapong has no connection to the madness of Oti Bonsu and Agya Koo, why has he not distanced himself with a single statement? One sentence. One post. One word.
Kennedy’s silence is the answer to everything.
From the day Kennedy was misled into picking a nomination form in 2023, I knew the NPP was entering a difficult chapter. Not because ambition is wrong. Because that ambition was built on a foundation of ingratitude and greed. And ingratitude, when it organises itself, becomes sabotage.
The Ashanti Region, the heartbeat of this party’s tradition, has been turned into a propaganda garden for miscreants and political idiots. People who became rich at the NPP’s feet are now spitting at it. Men who owe their relevance to the discipline of others are now marketing their grievances as principles and ambition.
These Breakaway actions are not based on disagreement. It is a slow assassination of the party that gave them life.
And the worst part? They are smiling while the knife turns.
