Tension erupt at Amantin and Akokoa, attacked farmers call for government’s quick intervention

Residents and farmers of Amantin in the Atebubu- Amantin Municipal of the Bono East Region are calling for the government’s swift intervention over the clash between Amantin and Akokoa.

According to some of the farmers (eyewitness) who have gone through hostage and maltreatment by the people of Akokoa for which reason they don’t know.

Speaking to the media in a presser today, the farmers and residents of Amantin sadly complained about the seizure of their farm lands by the residents of Akokoa which made life very unbearable for them.

“We respect the laws of the country, otherwise, we would have retaliated. So we are by this presser calling on the government to as quickly as possible intervene before the situation gets worse”.

The residents therefore have expressed deepest disappointment in their regional Minister, regional and municipal police commanders, DCE for acting so adamant about the situation.
