The Ghana Scholarships Authority has declared that applications are now open for its Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic year.
In a statement released in Accra on April 20, 2026, and endorsed by the Authority’s Director-General, Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei invites eligible Ghanaian students who have gained admission to accredited tertiary institutions nationwide to submit their scholarship applications.
The program aims to assist talented yet financially struggling students in obtaining higher education in their own region.
The Authority states that the application period will be open from Monday, April 20, until Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Applicants are encouraged to hand in their forms during the designated timeframe, as late submissions will be disregarded.
All applications must be submitted online via the official scholarship portal.
Candidates must complete the application form and attach all required supporting documents during the process.
The Authority stated that candidates who are shortlisted will be asked to take an aptitude test and attend a selection interview as part of the evaluation procedure.
It also motivated qualified students to seize the chance and confirm that all details given during the application process are correct.
